The convergence of processing and graphics for the modern builder

This AM5 processor is forged for the discerning user in South Africa who demands true capability without the complexity of sourcing a discrete graphics card. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is an 8-core, 16-thread powerhouse built on the advanced Zen 4 architecture. It solves the common problem of high component cost by delivering strong CPU performance alongside superior integrated graphics, making it ideal for building compact, powerful, or budget-conscious PCs that still handle modern titles and productivity tasks with confidence. This is the foundation for a clean, efficient, and high-performance system built upon the long-term viability of the AM5 socket.

Unlocking performance with built-in intelligence

The inclusion of the dedicated AMD Ryzen AI engine means this AM5 CPU is prepared for the next generation of software that leverages machine learning and acceleration directly on the chip. This is not merely about frame rates; it is about future-proofing your investment in intelligent applications, from video editing suites to operating system efficiency enhancements. The raw clock speeds, boosted up to 5.1 GHz, ensure snappy responsiveness across all operational demands, from intense compiling to heavy data crunching.

Graphics performance that defies integration standards

The integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics, featuring 12 Compute Units running at up to 2900MHz, fundamentally shifts expectations for APUs. This solution supports modern display standards including DisplayPort 2.1 and outputs across up to four displays simultaneously. For the user, this means enjoying demanding applications and popular esports titles at respectable resolutions and frame rates, all while utilising power efficiency, confirmed by a 65W default TDP that can be configured down to 45W for ultra-small form factor builds. Durability is assured through AMD's commitment to platform longevity and the inherent quality of the TSMC 4nm manufacturing process.

No illusions: Understand the core components provided

This AM5 processor unit is delivered as the central processing element only, meaning you secure the maximum flexibility for cooling, memory, and motherboard choice. We present only the truth of what is contained within the shipping material, ensuring you can plan your build with absolute certainty regarding what you are acquiring for your system's foundation. This is the starting point for your custom configuration, not a constrained bundle.

Control over every aspect of the clock and power

For those who understand that performance is a negotiation, the 8700G offers extensive control. It is unlocked for manual overclocking, supported by Precision Boost Overdrive, and features fine-tuning options like Curve Optimizer Voltage Offsets. When paired with fast DDR5 memory, the system memory controller supports speeds up to 5200 MHz (2x1R or 2x2R configurations), allowing enthusiasts to extract every possible cycle from the architecture, supported by platform features like AMD EXPO technology for validated memory profiles. This specific AM5 CPU offers a complete path forward.
